Overview

HOW ALCOHOL MONITORING WORKS

Alcohol monitoring verifies sobriety over a period of time using either a continuous transdermal device (worn on the ankle, testing through the skin around the clock) or scheduled breath or urine testing at set intervals. Results are reported to the court, probation officer, or monitoring agency on the schedule they require. It’s commonly ordered alongside an ignition interlock as an added layer of compliance, or on its own as a probation condition.

Missed or failed tests are logged and reported to the supervising agency, which can affect your case. Staying on top of your testing schedule is essential.
Results go directly to the court, probation officer, or monitoring agency named in your order, on the reporting schedule they require.
